Daniel Zea
Daniel Zea, a Swiss-Colombian designer and composer based in Geneva, begins studying Composition in Bogotá, his hometown, with Harold Vásquez, shortly after graduating. Industrial design at the Javeriana University. In 2001, he continued his musical studies in Switzerland at the Geneva School of Music under the tutelage of Éric Gaudibert and Michael Jarrell (composition), Rainer Boesch and Luis Naón (electroacoustic), Émile Ellberger and Éric Daubresse (computer music). ), Kurz Sturzenegger (counterpoint) and Xavier Dayer (orchestration). At the same time, he is carrying out an academic exchange in the Netherlands, where he obtained a master's degree in Sonology (electronic music and computer science) from the Conservatoire's Institute of Sonology. He is a founding member of the Vortex Ensemble in Geneva with which he works both as conductor artist, composer and performer of electroacoustic music. He collaborates with various artists for audiovisual and interactive installations and, since 2008, teaches at the Higher School of Art and Design in Geneva (Basics for Programming Interactive Mixing Systems for Video, Sound and Physical Computing. As an artist and educator, he has been invited to give master classes, workshops and lectures at various institutions in Switzerland and abroad.
