Charles Rainville

Charles Rainville approached sound arts and digital arts in a self-taught way during his university studies, where he finds a great interest in particular for experimental electronic music. He is active in the emerging music scene in Montreal, especially by sharing his artistic vision during DJ sets and live during small events and events. After training as a sound engineer at Musitechnic, he began studying electroacoustic music and digital art at the University of Montreal, where he was very interested in electroacoustic music, video music, music programming, and digital audio installations. During his university career he had the opportunity to study with professors such as Jean Piché, Nicolas Bernier and Ana Dall'Ara Majek, where he composed several pieces, including one in octophony, as well as a work for electroacoustic tape and bombilla. Charles considers himself a multimedia artist and explores through his art the relationship between sound and everything that could link it to the tangible. He is also really interested in the place of new technologies in human relations. He sincerely believes that the diversion of technological tools can contribute to the creation of artistic works capable of creating unique and particular links and physical meeting spaces. Our world is changing at breakneck speed and becoming aware of our environment and the bodies that compose it is the key to understanding it, raising awareness and taking action. Currently, he is finishing his last university session at the Ecole Supérieure d'Arts de Mons, ARTS2, where he studies with distinguished composers of the electroacoustic music scene such as Régis Renouard Larivière, Charo Calvo and Roald Baudoux, and continues to experiment with acoustics. composition, musical programming, as well as the composition for the screen. In addition to the university, he seizes the opportunity to actively participate in the cultural life of Brussels by joining the production team of Les Garages Numériques, a digital art festival.
