Caught up

Presented by: Jaime Alejandro Rodríguez Ruiz / Daniel Salamanca Díaz / Diego Hernando Sosa Ruiz / research seedbed "Creation of interactive products" and "NTS Study" of UTadeo.

Since digital contents began to be produced in the early 90's, many of them started to experience a phenomenon called digital obsolescence; that is, they could not be consumed, recreated or distributed in today's technological reality. Therefore, this recovery and updating of contents find, in the concept of Remediation (repowering of contents in the technological and digital world), an alternative to rethink both meanings and means and users of those contents that, otherwise, would be lost for today's receiver.

Thus, in a multidisciplinary and interinstitutional way, the preservation and empowerment of different digital products belonging to a vast transmedia diegetic world called JAR, created by Jaime Alejandro Rodríguez, is being developed.

"Atrapados" (collective intelligence simulator) is a video game created in 2013, which has experienced the phenomenon of digital obsolescence and is being reconceptualized from its own playful pyramid, as well as from interactive media available today, such as virtual and augmented reality. This is the result of the remediation process, by the hand of its author and the Interactive Design program through its research groups of students and professors.
