In 1899, the German neurobiologist Christofredo Jakob arrived in our country to conduct his research at the Hospital de las Alienadas. More than a century later, in a semi-abandoned ward of the (now) Moyano Hospital, the vestiges of that experience appear in the form of photographs of the inmates who lived in the hospital. From the archive and the memories of his granddaughter Cuqui, Atlas reconstructs Jakob's work in Argentina, invokes the specters of that positivist, ambitious and cruel Buenos Aires of 1900, and takes them to the encounter of a more humane present.
