A constant interest in broadening the meaning of composition, performance and the aesthetic musical experience, has made Triana's work encompass the technological developments he has encountered and freely appropriated elements from different artistic, scientific and philosophical disciplines. This is reflected in a hybrid musical production, difficult to classify, that takes shape in unconventional and varied formats, ranging from concert music, interactive installations, sound and light sculptures, to vibrating objects.
His work has been presented in renowned concert halls, festivals, museum galleries, and offbeat venues in Latin America, the United States, and Europe. Her numerous awards and recognitions have made her one of the most distinguished Colombian artists of the time.
Triana obtained her undergraduate degree from the Javeriana University (Colombia), achieving Academic Excellence and Merits. As a Fulbright and Mazda Scholar, she earned a Dual Emphasis for her Master of Composition in New Media | Integrated Media at the California Institute of the Arts, and began doctoral studies at the University of California, San Diego.
She has worked as a university professor at the Javeriana and Pedagogical Universities (Colombia) and has been a consultant to the Art Department of the Colombian Ministry of Culture. He is currently dedicated to his artistic production, directed in the United States by Music Artwoks LLC. He is a member of the Executive Board of the South Florida Composers Alliance.
