Concordia Laptop Orchestra (CLOrk)

Concordia Laptop Orchestra (CLOrk, 2010) is one of the largest and most prolific electroacoustic ensembles in the world. With dozens of performances at prestigious festivals and venues, CLOrk has served as a fruitful interdisciplinary research-creation platform to investigate the nature of collective improvisation, mediation, and the creative process and to develop approaches to equitable, collaborative, and neurodiverse co-creation. . The collective creation of performance requires listening and interacting with others to create a cohesive performance. However, musical and other temporary expressions also imply a sense of agency, which can be most prominently perceived when individuals assume momentary creative leadership roles in which they act to disrupt the sense of cohesion (either to rejuvenate it or to catalyze change).
CLOrk has collaborated with dancers, soloists, VJ's, audiovisual artists, live programmers, as well as symphony, chamber, jazz and portable orchestras. Notable contributors include Ariane Moffatt, Andrea Young, Amanda Christie, and No Complaints. CLOrk has performed at the TENOR conference, the Akousma festival, the MAC (Musée d'art contemporain) and more.
