        Gare Paris-Saint-Lazare, April 10, 2017, 12:03-12:07

        Pablo-Martin Cordoba / France

Gare Paris-Saint-Lazare, April 10, 2017, 12:03-12:07 2017, video HD modified by algorithm, 1920x1080, stereo sound. From footage shot in a busy urban environment, still frames are extracted and regularly superimposed onto the video. The result of the hybrid image merges the positions of the people according to the different temporalities; each passerby leaves the trace of his path when he joins the static silhouettes already left by the others. These improbable meetings materialize a timeless structure that progressively fills the available space: the image is transformed, denatured and tends towards abstraction. Thus sculpted by time, the forms produced reveal the dialogue between humans and the architecture that channels their movement.

        it's you

        Rita Casdia / Italy

The clay video It's You wants to investigate the ambiguous relationship that each human being establishes when they meet with the other. “The Other” can be anyone: a parent, a friend; a girlfriend, a co-worker, etc... The formal decision to wear the same clothes for all the characters in the video, the composition of scenes, is intended to question the viewer. How is it possible to recognize the diversity that distinguishes a character, if all the others are similar to him? In this game of mirrors the narration of the video takes place.

Video essay on the new seismic fractures in Mexico City, specifically in the Benito Juárez delegation, after the earthquake of September 19, 2017 caused by deep excavations for the construction of buildings, many of them without construction permits or product of corruption in addition to the extraction of water from the subsoil to satisfy the demand of an increasingly numerous population. These activities were responsible for the physical vulnerability of the soil and are part of the factors that influenced the collapse of buildings in the area.

        Détours-Shortcuts

Mathilde Jauvin & José Luis Aguilera / Colombia - France

Between France and Colombia, between Clichy-sous-Bois and Ciudad Bolívar, between two border territories, marked by migration and displacement, two groups of adolescents take the floor to talk about their city, tell their experiences, their adventures and your hopes. Through his images, a dialogue between realities, memories and futures is built little by little. Each group of young people and each character have their French or Colombian duo as their interlocutor. In the manner of a letter, the fruits of the workshops, in the form of small videos made by them, are sent to the other group. Physically distant but symbolically close. A pretext to talk about and make talk to a generation that lives in two cities whose peripheries are experiencing a new era today. The presence of a distant and "exotic" group allows a recipient to whom the link with the territory is more freely told. To be narrated in front of and behind the camera since we know that there is someone in another distant place who takes up the floor again. Or how to find the similar in the middle of a world so unknown and different.

        Occupation

        Esteban Gutierrez / Colombia

Occupation explores the relationship between the movement of the body and space. While the characters occupy an empty territory, the space develops a visual memory in which both entities become part of the same graphic construction. This work is part of the AVD Project (FUBA, Medellín), a techno-conceptual investigation on the expressive potential of visual data within digital systems. Through a program designed for the project, the information of the video stream is manipulated in real time and the way in which the image is constructed is modified in order to explore the representation of time in two-dimensional space.
