He was born in Bogotá, Colombia, and since he was a child, the countryside and the city have served as the context for his adventures. He studied Industrial Design at the Universidad de los Andes, completed an M.F.A. Design & Technology at Parsons the New School for Design (USA), and a Ph.D. in Urban Development and Social Innovation at the Urban Informatics Lab at Queensland University of Technology (Australia). He is also a motorcycle mechanic technician. He is an associate professor in the Department of Design at the Universidad de los Andes.

The image of women is usually represented as an assistant to men, a figure that serves for men to develop their role, express their concerns and make visible their leading role in the film or in the corresponding audiovisual product. Rarely does her role have its own profile and defined independently from the one played by the male protagonist, and it is often a simple stage show.
