XVI INTERNATIONAL IMAGE FESTIVAL - ISEA2017

ISEA2017, the most important electronic art symposium in the international context, was held for the first time in Latin America, within the framework of the 16th International Image Festival, which took place from June 11 to 18 in the city of Manizales. This event brought together 408 artists and academics from 32 countries and had 12,500 spectators.

This edition revolved around the theme Bio-creation and Peace, an invitation to reflect on the contributions from art, design, science and technology as alternatives of respect for biodiversity and peaceful coexistence between communities and their environment. .

The event had a total of 467 activities, in a program that included interactive exhibitions, performances, seminars, concerts, film and video shows, forums, and workshops.

France guest country

Thanks to the Colombia-France Year, a delegation of French artists exhibited their creations with the Digital France panorama, presented by the French Embassy and the French Institute at the 16th International Image Festival - ISEA2017. The event was closed by the Nuits Sonores Electronic Music Festival, with concerts by Polar Inertia and Arnaud Rebotini.

Thanks to the Colombia-France Year, the French Embassy and the French Institute, the 16th Image Festival - ISEA2017 will be one of the hosts of Nuits Sonores, a French electronic music festival that is coming to Latin America for the first time . After celebrating its 15th edition in the city of Lyon in France, Nuits Sonores will travel to Colombia for a concert tour in Bogotá, Medellín and Manizales. Within the framework of the 16th Image Festival - ISEA2017, Nuits Sonores Colombia will offer two exceptional concerts: Polar Inertia on Friday June 16 and Arnaud Rebotini on Saturday June 17. 

Polar Inertia is a group made up of artists, who are at the same time musicians, authors of texts and photographs, creators of videos and performances. From the French underground techno scene, they will arrive in Manizales with a concert that goes beyond techno standards, making it a polymorphic experience. 

Arnaud Rebotini will present his most recent audiovisual project during his concert in Manizales. Rebotini is considered one of the emblematic artists of electronic music in France, noted for his use of analog synthesizers and acclaimed for his live performances through the most important clubs and festivals in the world. Throughout the event, from June 11 to 18, the 16th International Image Festival - ISEA2017 will bring together the best of French digital creation with a delegation of artists and academics in the FRANCE DIGITAL scene.
