
Waseem Syed (b. 1955), a Guatemalan artist and curator of Pakistani origin, has a four-decade career exploring identity, migration, and the environment through interdisciplinary work. As Chief Curator of the Paiz Foundation, he directs the Paiz Art Biennale and organized the first Ibero-American Digital Arts Congress, Art-Tec (2024).
An acclaimed artist, he has exhibited in 15 countries, with works in collections such as MURB (Guatemala) and IMAGO MUNDI (Italy). Founder of the Osmosis gallery, he teaches fine art photography at EFE Guatemala and advises art institutions in Pakistan, including the Mariam Dawood School of Visual Arts and the National College of Arts.
