Las Hermanas is an electronic music project created in Bogotá, Colombia by Diego Cuéllar in 2014. The project is based on the exploration of textures and atmospheres through pre-existing sounds (sampling) as well as the creation of analog and digital sound environments. There is a particular interest in manipulating sonic elements that are no longer relevant today and presenting that “ghost sound” in a novel way.
Six releases have been made public, including EPs and full-length albums, some in physical cassette format. The project has had the opportunity to perform at festivals such as Sónar Bogotá (2015), Sónar Barcelona (2016), Festival Nrmal (Mexico City, 2017), and Festival Estéreo Picnic (Bogotá, 2019). It has also been presented in venues like La Gaîté Lyrique in Paris (2017), the Teatro Colón in Bogotá (2019), La Media Torta (2022), and in various cities across Colombia. Its work has been released on labels such as Mambo Negro (COL) and Tambien (ECU).
