Juan Carlos Ortiz is a pioneer of Colombian advertising with a global impact. He was the first Latin American to lead a U.S. advertising multinational as President of Leo Burnett USA. As founder and CEO of DDB Latina, he redefined Latin creativity across the U.S., Latin America, and Spain. In 2023, he led DDB to become the Most Creative Network at Cannes Lions for the first time.
Creator of the Bullseye system, Ortiz has driven DDB to win over 260 Lions, including four Grand Prix. He has received global recognition, including being named a Young Global Leader by the World Economic Forum and inducted into the AAF Hall of Achievement.
He is the author of Shorts, a creative trilogy praised by Forbes, and a columnist for El Espectador since 2008. In 2024, he was named a Legend of the Advertising Industry by El Dorado Festival. Juan Carlos is also a partner at SPIN, a fast-growing U.S. chain of ping pong social clubs.
