Alexandre Saunier is an artist and professor in the Audiovisual department at LUCA School of Arts (KU Leuven). His work merges artistic practice and academic research, focusing on interactions between light, sound, autonomous systems, and sensory perception, grounded in media art theory, cybernetics, and complex systems. He holds a PhD from Concordia University (2023), where he studied historical and contemporary practices of light as an artistic medium with real-time computational systems. His background spans mathematics, physics, sound engineering (ENS Louis Lumière), and behavioral robotics research (ENSADLab).

As part of the artistic duo ALMA (since 2020), he blends instrumental/electronic music with video game engines, motion capture, audio synthesis, and AI in audiovisual performances. His work has been showcased at major international venues, including Mutek Montreal, Ars Electronica, CTM, ISEA, Nuit Blanche Toronto, and Bcn_llum.
