The installation "Machine for a Present Oblivion" proposes a research process that arises from an initial question linked to the construction and visualization of historical memory in the Colombian context. Thus, the project revolves around a reflection focused on how one seeks to build historical memory in order to approach the individual and collective dimension of the problem from this question through two artifacts of a textual nature that pose contrasting images.

Specifically, the proposal reasons about the construction of the Individual and Collective Memory in Colombia, based on an analysis focused on the management of Historical Memory, in relation to the historical and political situation of the country, marked by continuous violence that has been prolonged. during the last six decades. In this way, the proposed work is defined as the result of a research process that reflects on the multiple dimensions of Memory in relation to an imaginary linked to the conflict, articulating on testimony as a trace of an event and considering the characteristics of writing. and its fixation in supports by means of automated processes. From there, the plastic result proposes a critique regarding the way Memory is constructed in relation to oblivion and a developing Conflict.
