The challenge and contribution of digital media to the history of today art. The idea of « anarchive »

The anarchive series of digital archives about and with artists such as Antoni Muntadas, Michael Snow, Thierry Kuntzel, Jean Otth, Fujiko Nakaya, Masaki Fujihata and Peter Campus, is an example of the possibilities provided by new technologies to produce other ways of thinking and making art history. Beyond the creation of singular interfaces and of comprehensive databases, several principles have to be underlined such as speed, multiple connexions of different layers, modes of visualization, dynamic digital archives easy to modify and expand.
