Uriel Marin
Colombia
Teacher, Percussionist, Drummer, Bachelor of Music from the Universidad de Caldas, with a postgraduate degree in Modern Music Specialty Drums and Percussion from the Conservatorio Superior el Liceu de Barcelona Spain, Master in Music emphasis Classical Percussion from the Universidad EAFIT of Medellin.
He was Professor of Percussion at the Universidad Tecnológica de Pereira for 12 years, member and section leader of the Manizales Municipal Band, Manizales Philharmonic Band, Universidad de Caldas Band, won several national awards for Colombian music and participated in several International Jazz and World Music Festivals.
As a session musician he has recorded in more than twenty projects. He currently works as a Professor at the Universidad de Caldas in the chairs of Latin Percussion and Symphonic Percussion, and is Timpanist and Principal Percussionist of the Symphonic Orchestra of Caldas.

Throughout his career he has received numerous national and international awards. His works have been regularly performed in nine countries in America and twelve in Europe.

His electro-acoustic trio, which has released three albums on Clean Feed Records, combines intricately composed materials with very open improvisation and live sampling/processing.
