Workshops

This group of four organizers contains the expertise of senior and junior scholars together with young researchers, affiliated to Technical University Vienna in Austria, and Universidad de Los Andes in Colombia. The organizers have extensive experience in designing, studying, and publishing about open participatory processes, digital technologies, and resilient development in various geographical, institutional, and social contexts.

Their combined expertise in this Workshop guarantees a unique perspective that will facilitate creative and fruitful discussion about the use of participation processes and digital tools for resilient development.

Rudolf Giffinger, professor of Regional Science, likes research and teaching a cross-cultural context. As a researcher is concerned about Smart City and its conceptualization as a human-centered initiative using technical devices as a tool, and not as a goal.

Leonardo Parra Agudelo is an assistant professor at the Design Department at Universidad de Los Andes. His research interests are situated at the intersection of people, place, and technology when the urban meets the rural, and humans and non-humans intersect with each other.

Antonia Bogadi is committed to use-inspired urban research and teaching. She is focusing on urban governance networks, helping to find solutions through the creation of novel participation methods for forward-thinking implementations of adaptation measures.

Santiago Sanchez Guzman is an architect and infrastructure planner, currently affiliated as lecturer and Doctorate Candidate at the Centre for Urban and Regional Studies at the TU Vienna (SRF). His research explores the role of strategic social infrastructure planning and digitalization in shaping socio-ecological resilience, inclusive planning, and community participation.
