The work of the trio LIE (Lapland Improvisations Experiment) resident in Helsinki (Finland), navigates between the cohesion of different musical, sound and artistic languages with free improvisation. Its members, who come from different backgrounds, seek to interact artistically in the same space under no limitations of style or aesthetics. Which includes openness to works in collaboration with multimedia and performance. Simultaneously with their artistic activity, the LIE trio founded in 2012 an alternative educational collective in Helsinki called Lapland Improvisations. This project offers students from different fields of sound and musical interest various courses, workshops and concerts throughout the year. During its foundation, the collective has had prestigious artists from multiple disciplines as guest workshop leaders.
