Institute Fundation
The Image Research Institute Foundation is a non-profit entity that since its creation in 1998, has supported the realization of the International Image Festival and other projects such as the Incubator of Cultural Companies, LASO Eje Cafetero, Cluster of Industries and Creative Communities of the Coffee Axis (ClusterLab), among others. This has allowed the consolidation of interdisciplinary research, extension and services in the fields of design and audiovisual creation in order to promote democratic visual communication, within the framework of the interrelation of art, science and technology.

MISSION
The mission of the Image Research Institute Foundation is to carry out and promote interdisciplinary research, extension and services in the fields of design and audiovisual creation, with the aim of promoting democratic visual communication, within the framework of the interrelation of art, science and technology.
Initiatives that take place in open laboratories and in the context of post-digital practices are presented within the framework of the Festival: Bottom-up visions, low tech, emerging collectives, conceptual hybridizations, transparent technologies and open data.
VISION
The Foundation will be a leader in communication programs and processes that link the image with society, will advise people, institutions and the public and private administration in the formulation, application and evaluation of plans, programs and projects aimed at effective visual information , and will design and develop programs, lines and research projects related to image.
